MY STYLE FIX: THE WINTER CAPE LOOK

In the winter staying warm without feeling suffocated and trapped under snug, puffy, stuffy layers of fabric can prove to be near impossible.
Fortunately, the cape coat allows us the freedom to breathe and move freely without the feeling of perpetual strangulation with ever move.

MY STYLE FIX: PRETTY PAISLEY DRESS

Prints and patterns are a great way to infuse a bit of fun and whimsy into your style, horizontal stripes notwithstanding, unless you have a perverse desire to have your backside appear wider than normal.
If looking like a beached whale isn't your intention then horizontal stripes should be avoided. Instead, opt for a pretty paisley print, which will only enhance your morale as oppose to your behind.

MY STYLE FIX: FAUX FUR & PINK DRESS

I'm pretty sure this may have been the only time all season where  sweaty coochie be damned I wore tights.
During New York Fashion Week (NYFW) I had to travel all over the City to attend various runway shows and needless to say, the notion of freezing my exposed arse off did not appeal to me.
I'm pretty sure that tending to a frozen vagina would've distracted from the goings on on the runway so, I covered up to thwart the deep freeze.
Surprisingly, the sweaty scenario that I anticipated didn't come to fruition and I managed to stay warm and dry. Thank God for tiny miracles.
Have a great weekend! Thanks for dropping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: DENIM SHEARLING

I can hardly believe that I was allowed into the same building let alone the same room as one of my style inspirations, June Ambrose. I mean, the insane amount of hours I've spent fixated on her work alone would at least denote a 500 feet restraining order and a taser just to be on the safe side.
Thanks to Harlem Fashion Row who held an event featuring June Ambrose, I was able to breathe the same air as the style and fashion phenomenon all while hanging on to her ever word as if she was revealing the answers to the universe.
While I still don't know where we come from, or why Michael Jackson only wore that one glove, I did find out that June Ambrose is amazing not only because of her tremendous eye for fashion, but her humility and grace is what truly makes her special in my eyes.
There were no airs or pretentiousness as many in her position with all her accolades are prone to project to the chagrin of anybody unfortunate enough to be in their presence.
Hell, even people with far less achievements walk around as if there's a very large stick wedged really far up their rectal cavity, which let's be honest would make even Mother Theresa, God rest her soul, a raging bitch, but I digress.
Instead, June Ambrose couldn't have been nicer. She was so relatable and down to Earth even going far beyond what was expected of her to answer the questions of all her admires, as oppose to hightailing it off the stage the second her time was up.
Such a great role model, as a lesser person would've thrown up the deuces and headed for the door. I'm so glad I was there to witness it, as I was inspired.
Have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: FALL WEDGE BOOT

Happy Monday! Now, I've never hid my disdain for cooler temperatures, but my affinity for a good tall, over the knee, please Sweet Baby Jesus, let it be a hooka boot, changes my mind every time, and totally have me looking forward to the big chill.
I recently spotted these gorgeous Zara boots, and I fell hard, completely head over heels, no pun intended, for these lookers.
So much so that I pray to the Gods that this chill is here to stay, because I can really see myself rocking out in these everyday.
Just after purchasing these beauties I considered wearing them right out the store, but it was much warmer that day, and that would've been a bit much, dare I say bat shit coo coo, but people do strange things in love, and I'm no different.
Luckily, and I can't believe I'm even saying this, but luckily a few short days later, because that's how bipolar Mother Nature is, only a few short days later, the temperature plummeted, and I was able to rock out in my new boots.
I paired them with a dress which I wore here over the Summer, and I layered it with a button down shirt. I felt like a kid on the first day of school. You remember how excited you were to wear all that new shit your mom bought you for your new school year? And on that glorious first day, you're so feeling yourself when you finally get to wear it. Well, that's my story.
Enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: DROP WAIST DRESS

TGIF! Since my monthly visitor had me feeling like a water buffalo, and retaining water like a desert camel, I couldn't imagine wearing any body hugging, skin tight anything this week.
Of course there's a strong exception for tight tanks, low cut tops, and V-necks down to there, because the girls reach great heights during this time period, and I'm all about accentuating the positive, bordering on gratuitous displays of skin.
Hell, don't judge me. I'm just embracing my curves, and let's just say, scoop neck tees, and anything sheer are perfect for putting my inflated funbags on display.
This inflation is more than welcomed, as my girls can alway be pumped up. However, my already bulging parts, certainly need no assistance.
But, clearly Mother Nature has a sick sense of humor, and thought it would be cute to waterlogg my already fat ass, or maybe she's all about symmetry and wanted equity on top and bottom. Either way, I'm not laughing, and dare I say she should get a life.
Thank goodness for this drop waist dress that I paired with pumps which hides her handy work while accentuating the positive.
Enjoy your weekend! Make it count! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: OVERSIZED DENIM VEST

Happy Hump Day! In this life, there's two times a woman should never wear white, and unless Mother Nature visited earlier than usual this month, I managed to avoid that bloody disaster.
Unfortunately, I lost my mind, and against all rhyme and reason, I decided to wear white on the subway. Yeah...the same subway with the gonorrhea seats(see previous post), mystery odors that are very reminiscent of rotting flesh, and wet spots that one can only hope is just water.
Even with knowing all that awaited me, I still wore the dress because of course in my mind, after scanning the millions of dresses in my closet,I had nothing to wear, and that one frock, out of all the dresses, was the only cute thing I had. The only one.
Well, within less than a few minutes of boarding the train, I somehow managed to acquire a mystery stain right in the the front of my white dress, which clearly mortified me based on it's proximity to my who-who. I don't know what was in that substance, but I digress.
I was so panicked because I was on my way to a fashion event where I was quite sure a stained dress would not have been viewed as avant-garde.
But, as luck would have it, in Midtown, the streets are lined with so many clothing stores that as soon as I existed the subway I ran into the first store, headed straight for the sales rack, and selected this sequence dress and denim vest to replace my epic failure.
I proceeded to have my Clark Kent moment in the dressing room, and managed to show up to the event, skillfully rubbing shoulders with the likes of VH1's "Love & Hip Hop" star EmilyB as if nothing happened.
Enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by<3
