Soft pastels may seem like a color palette strictly reserved for spring. Yet, it's still possible to wear these colors in the winter. Simply keep the colors the same, but be sure to switch out delicate fabrics for heavyweight pieces that are more practical for the season.

To the elation of animal lovers and cash-strapped fashionistas everywhere, the differences between real and faux fur are minimal.   

Over time, the quality of faux fur has been enhanced and the substitute has since become a fabulous alternative to the real thing.

Staying warm during the winter without looking like the Abominable Snowman is achievable despite the issues that layers present. 

  Fortunately, faux-fur coats reduce the need for lots of layers by       providing enough warmth as well as that luxe look that we all crave.

MY STYLE FIX: FAUX FUR & PINK DRESS

I'm pretty sure this may have been the only time all season where  sweaty coochie be damned I wore tights. 

During New York Fashion Week (NYFW) I had to travel all over the City to attend various runway shows and needless to say, the notion of freezing my exposed arse off did not appeal to me.  

I'm pretty sure that tending to a frozen vagina would've distracted from the goings on on the runway so, I covered up to thwart the deep freeze.

Surprisingly, the sweaty scenario that I anticipated didn't come to fruition and I managed to stay warm and dry. Thank God for tiny miracles.

MY STYLE FIX: LEOPARD FUR JACKET

When the faux fur hat and jacket make a simultaneous appearance, it's not hard to tell that the shit has hit the fan, not literally per se, but in an it's cold as balls outside kind of way.

During New York Fashion Week (NYFW)the desire to be cute and dainty quickly flew out the window as the temps were far from conducive to anyone other than the abominable snowman.

Just like that, what was once guaranteed to be a parade of the overexposed, underdressed fashionista, quickly became a matter of survival, in the wear layers or meet your maker type of way.  

So, from head to toe I piled it on, doing my best Yeti impersonation, all while protecting my lady parts from the unfriendly bite of the frost.

MY STYLE FIX: BROWN FAUX FUR COAT

I just need to say that no animals were injured, maimed, or killed in the making of this blog post. First of all, I love all of Sweet Baby Jesus' little creatures, and I just couldn't do that even for the sake of having a super soft, just drop dead gorgeous mink coat grace my virgin body.

I've seen all those rappers like Yeezy decked out in chinchilla and an assortment of other high quality furs, like it's their second skin and not the remnants of some really cute animal.

But, while I pass no judgement, wearing fur is just not for me mainly becasue I'm a broke ass, and that kind of luxury is not in my budget, and I would rather not resort to laying on my back to secure this prize. Besides, that would be a lot of back laying and I seriously don't have the stamina.

Secondly, I would rather slit my wrist and bleed out than have PETA knocking on my door, hounding me, or trying to throw that red paint in my face, which I'm sure probably has some type of super flesh eating bacteria mixed in for good measure, because I know in their book people who wear fur should perish slowly and in extreme agony.

So, I play it safe and rock out in faux fur. Besides, I'd rather not have Bambi or Simba die on my behalf, just so I can live out some sexy fashion fantasy. I have enough blood on my hands from all the leather I wear and juicy steaks I eat. I don't need paint on my face too.
