MY STYLE FIX: A CHECKED WOOL COAT

Oftentimes, outerwear is viewed as the part of an outfit that's strictly functional and practical when it comes to wintertime pairings.
That rationale is understandable as selecting a coat based primarily on its fashionable qualities may seem irrelevant when contending with snow showers, subpar temperatures, and less than optimal conditions.
However, choosing a piece that pulls double duty can not only keep you warm and enhance your overall look, but the old adage of when you look good, you feel good, also rings true even in the Polar Vortex.

MY STYLE FIX: WOOL CAPE & SKINNIES

The BF would contend that I recently fell ill due to wearing these open toe heels in inclement weather, which is clearly a feeble attempt to deflect from his role as outbreak monkey in the whole melodrama.
Certainly his argument would've been legitimate had he not spent days laying in bed oscillating from sweating to shivering, and coughing up shit that would rival any fur ball our Fluffy could ever produce.
And, in the midst of it all doing my best Florence Nightingale impression trying to nurse my Boo back to health, it was only a matter of time before I too was infected with the plague.
Between the snotty tissues and airborne germs released via the constant coughing and relentless ah-choos, nothing short of a hazmat suit could've prevented what was in hindsight inevitable.
As I was exposed to the bug for days before I attended the Diane von Furstenberg x Roxy Collection launch party in this get up, I'm pretty sure the virus was incubating waiting for the right moment to attack and ravish my body.
The shoes although open toe played no part in the sickness that was to follow, and was solely guilty of giving me a lift when I needed one. Enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: SNAKE PRINT SKINNIES

Sometimes putting on a pair of skin tight skinnies that grab my ass just so, have a way of making me feel like a sex pot akin to the broads in those nudie magazines or skin flicks, albeit an immensely watered down version completely incapable of eliciting a rise.
Nevertheless, nobody couldn't convince me that I wasn't emanating sexual prowess and was completely deserving of at least a pity arousal or a good old fashion atta girl.
Truth of the matter is, I felt the way I can only imagine women the likes of Halle Berry with their perfect everything just strut around knowing.
While I on the other hand have to squeeze myself into a pair of skinnies, and all the stars have to be aligned ever so perfectly before I can even pull off a caricature version of sexy without completely embarrassing myself or triggering the gag reflex of mankind.
Trust me I've worn far less and exposed way more body parts at the expense of my dignity and non-existent self respect, and still failed to capture the essence of sexy let alone the attention of a man.
Spending your time making sure that your girls don't make an impromptu public appearance can have that effect, and immediately detract from one's Bar Refaeli moment, especially when self confidence is replaced by nightmarish thoughts of humiliating overexposure.
I've learned those lessons the hard way with entire nights spent tugging at and strategically placing fabric over areola trying to achieve bombshell status. But, the irony is, it doesn't take that much. A bit of confidence and a good pair of skinnies will suffice.
