MY STYLE FIX: THE LITTLE LACE DRESS

I don't always have the luxury to ruminate over what I'm going to wear as there are often far more pressing first world issues at hand, such as deciding what I'm going to eat or drink once I don said outfit.
Obviously, it's a difficult life filled with the stresses of deciding how I'm going to satisfy my superficial needs from day to day. So, anything that offset those woes are always welcomed.
I find that having a go-to dress like this lace beauty, which reliably looks good on me no matter how many food babies I've spawned, definitely lightens my burden and takes the edge off.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your day<3

MY STYLE FIX: LACE, LEATHER, & FUR

It's so funny and tragically ironic, but with all the events taking place during New York Fashion Week (NYFW), I always felt like I had nothing to wear despite a closet full of clothes, many of which are brand spanking new with tags to boot.
Many a day I'd sooner throw my hands up and opt for nudity had it not been for that pesky desire to make a good impression, as opposed to traumatizing attendees with gratuitous displays of cottage cheese.
So as my less than perfect birthday suit was off the table, I had every intention of purchasing new outfits with a callous disregard for the good options that I already owned.
Nevermind all the children starving to death and without any options let alone the ability to fill a frivolous self indulgent void, and here I am professing that I needed things that I already have.
So leave it to Mother Nature with all her irreverence for our superficial needs, to use an impromptu blizzard to bestow upon me some perspective. Forced to make it work with what I had, I was reminded that it's not what you wear it's how you wear it that matters.

MY STYLE FIX: SUEDE LEATHER BOOTIE

TGIF! I don't really get sick, but every five years or so, I get infected with some kind of ratchet cooties, and subsequently sentenced to the confines of what I just know is my deathbed.
It was that bad, and in hindsight wearing this lace skirt paired with only a sweater, leather jacket, scarf, and bootie on an unexpectedly colder than normal day definitely didn't help.
I literally didn't eat for three days, not counting all the medication I was taking to fight off my dark passenger.
If it wasn't for my gluttonous ways over Thanksgiving I wouldn't have had the bounty of fat reserves to get me through my lack of appetite.
That little Thanksgiving foodbaby seriously kept me from the bright light. It could've went so differently had I not had that second helping of candied yams.
I mean, I'm still not anywhere close to 100 percent, but I'm no longer laying lifelessly in bed, and it's not even by choice or subsequent to some kind of magic. For that I'm grateful.
Enjoy your weekend! Thanks for stopping by<3

REPEAT FIX: CLASSIC LEATHER JACKET

Fall is here and it's that time of year when a classic black leather jacket is a must. By pairing this rock and roll piece with your favorite items like I did here and here, you will instantly achieve that effortlessly cool factor. The black leather jacket is such a timeless piece which can seriously pull double duty throughout the season, and allow you to get that Repeat FixBelow are two different ways I styled my leather jacket.

MY STYLE FIX: LACE & DENIM

Happy Monday! Over the weekend I went out and wore this short dress paired with a denim vest and pumps. I thought it was cute, but I immediately regretted it as soon my nearly bare ass cheeks came in contact with the petri dish that was my seat on the train.
The only thing separating me from whatever disgusting disease left behind by some outbreak monkey was the thin cotton layer of my Victoria's Secret.
Fingers crossed Vickie's was built to combat biological warfare, because after all, it's NYC for heaven's sake. People here are walking around with all kinds of cooties, and my exposed backside was granting the little vermin easy access into my delicate immune system.
At least in the cooler months this isn't an issue, because surely the gonorrhea left behind by the slutty chick previously occupying the seat wouldn't be able to penetrate the forcefield that is denim.
However, this little lace number provided no such protection. So, if I go silent in a few days you'll know why.
Enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: LACE DRESS

OMG! On Wednesday, the most amazing thing happened to me! Yours truly had a professional photo shoot with Refinery29 for an Armani Exchange event here in NYC. Refinery29 extended the event to fashion bloggers, and as soon as I heard about it, I picked out this lace dress, paired with a leather jacket, pumps, and an arm full of bracelets of course, and I decided to participate.
I was so nervous! It's one thing to be photographed by the BF, who sees me bad naked all the time, and he hasn't left yet, which clearly means he loves me, because trust me sans clothes, the sight is far from glamourous and likely to initiate a dry heave.
It's another thing to have someone who could give two shits about you beyond the project at hand, taking your picture. I've already proven to the BF that I'm no model, and I'm more like an awkward talking robot. He's used to it.
So, before I did my best impersonation of a deer in the headlights I let the photographers in on the jig. To my surprise I wasn't  immediately thrown out on my arse. Instead the guys could not have been more accommodating and reassuring.
They put me at ease, and told me all I had to do was just stand in place, and they would do the rest. That in and of itself was a tiny miracle, 'cause to date there's a reason why I don't walk and chew gum...I can't. But, rest assured I can stand with the best of them.
Have a Great Weekend! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: LACE SKIRT

When I saw this skirt I Knew I had to have it! I mean could you resist this piece?! It's so pretty and lady like (you know very "Charlotte" from "Sex in the City"). Plus, it didn't help that the price was super reasonable.I love a good bargain! So, clearly,I succumbed to the temptation and bought the skirt!
The skirt is very dainty or "girly girl" which can be really cool if you're into that. But, for me I had to rough it up and dress it down a little by pairing it with casual and masculine pieces like the cargo jacket. Besides, I was just running errands. It would've been really strange if I was dressed up like I was going to afternoon tea (blank stare). It wasn't that type of party. so this dressed down lace skirt was the perfect fix for the outing.
