MY STYLE FIX: A SWEATSHIRT DRESS

There's nothing worse than traveling in tight clothing, plunging into the ocean mid-flight and bursting into flames notwithstanding.
Wearing loose clothing like a sweatshirt dress can be the difference between spending hours on wedgie removal or sitting comfortably.
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day<3

MY STYLE FIX: FLORAL TRENCH COAT

You can't go wrong with a Closet staple, unlike certain trends, which once acquired, in hindsight seriously made me question my sanity.
I mean after the sheer embarrassment and dry heaving has subsided from the sight of some of the on trend pieces that I've amassed over the years, the regret sets in and I realize the error of my ways.
In my defense, half the time it's not my fault. It's hard not to succumb to the images of freakishly perfect models styled in the latest or hottest whatever of the moment, which clearly fits like a glove.
Yet, on me, the same piece looks like something Anna Wintour
wiped off the bottom of her shoe. However, with a staple item
like this trenchcoat, there's no worries of a shitty fitting,
as miraculously, they look amazing on every body.

MY STYLE FIX: SPRINGTIME LAYERS

Right now, layers aren't only essential for the obvious reason of hiding the results of my affection for cupcakes as seen on my hips, but they're also perfect for these cool spring days.
These cool, sometimes bordering on cold spring days, definitely warrant a layer or two unless you have an affinity for headlights in the daytime.
I harbor no such desire, so to avert the spotlight, I pile on the layers and cover up accordingly.

MY STYLE FIX: FLATS IN THE SPRING

If you follow me on Instagram @ClosetFix or Facebook you already saw the pictures and you're aware that Mother Nature felt generous and bestowed upon the East Coast the spring that we've been missing.
Perhaps to quiet our bitching and moaning, and incessant begging for a warm up, she opted to throw us a bone and send some this way.
Maybe it was the tears of grown men that prompted Mother Nature's change of heart to allow spring and happiness back into our lives.
Either way, we were all grateful for the turn of events this weekend and took to the streets in droves to witness this miracle.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your day<3

MY STYLE FIX: SPRING TRENCH COAT

If you follow me on Instagram @ClosetFix or on Facebook you already know that the most amazing thing happened to me, acquiring my milk jugs in Middle School notwithstanding.

I was featured in print in my first American Fashion and Beauty magazine, +InStyle Magazine.
This resulted in several jumps for joy and random hugs to strangers in the grocery store where I first saw my own image on the pages of a publication that I adore.
As a Personal Style Fashion Blogger I couldn't have been more humbled and proud as not in a million years would I ever believe that my dream would come to fruition.
Have a great weekend! Thanks for dropping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: GREEN TULIP MINI SKIRT

Making it through New York Fashion Week(NYFW) primarily on a steady diet of the less than appetizing Fiber One bars that they ply you with at Lincoln Center is nothing short of a miracle.
I mean between the long days and late nights it's beyond comprehension that I didn't drop dead from malnutrition or sheer exhaustion by the end of the entire whirlwind event.
Sure the readily available beer I drank most days on an empty stomach took the edge off and distracted me from the pain emanating from my tired feet.
But, believe me, as the libations wore off, I was always reminded that the pulsing sensation was in fact coming from my limbs which had not rested in days.
So, needless to say, despite needing a shot of adrenaline by the end of NYFW, I had no qualms about putting on this mini and partying to celebrate surviving without a stint in the hospital.

MY STYLE FIX: PEPLUM FLORAL SKIRT

Although New York Fashion Week was dedicated to Fall/Winter 2013 collections, I decided to dress like something that the Easter Bunny threw up, as I'm anxiously awaiting the return of warmer temps.
If you follow me on Instagram @ClosetFix or on Facebook, you already know that I recently purchased this skirt. But, instead of waiting for sunny skies and a seasonally appropriate day to don this little number, I, the genius that I am decided to take this baby for a spin in tundra like conditions.
Now granted, even though it was worn pre-blizzard on the first day of NYFW, I'm pretty sure as photographers snapped my picture for my Vogue Italia feature, they were either in awe of my audacity, stupidity, or huge cojones, because certainly only a big testicled fool would wear a floral print mini skirt in the dead of winter.
Or, perhaps they simply wanted proof to take back to their colleagues regarding the mental patients on the loose at Lincoln Center. Either way, I'm really happy that they took notice, as I am beyond honored to be recognized by Vogue during one of Fashion's biggest weeks.
Enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: LACE, LEATHER, & FUR

It's so funny and tragically ironic, but with all the events taking place during New York Fashion Week (NYFW), I always felt like I had nothing to wear despite a closet full of clothes, many of which are brand spanking new with tags to boot.
Many a day I'd sooner throw my hands up and opt for nudity had it not been for that pesky desire to make a good impression, as opposed to traumatizing attendees with gratuitous displays of cottage cheese.
So as my less than perfect birthday suit was off the table, I had every intention of purchasing new outfits with a callous disregard for the good options that I already owned.
Nevermind all the children starving to death and without any options let alone the ability to fill a frivolous self indulgent void, and here I am professing that I needed things that I already have.
So leave it to Mother Nature with all her irreverence for our superficial needs, to use an impromptu blizzard to bestow upon me some perspective. Forced to make it work with what I had, I was reminded that it's not what you wear it's how you wear it that matters.
Enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by<3

REPEAT FIX: LEATHER MINI SKIRT

The leg baring mini skirt can do wonders for your wardrobe. Incorporating this shorter hemline into your Closet may be a bit intimidating. However, to offset or downplay the inherent sexiness of this Closet staple, opt for pairings that include more subdued pieces as seen here and here. Ranging in a wide array of textures, colors, and even lengths, the mini skirt which can be worn year round is a fun and flirty option that is sure to provide endless opportunities for a Repeat Fix. Below are two different ways I styled my mini skirt.
