MY STYLE FIX: DENIM JACKET & FUR

So, I got dressed feeling half way descent until the BF in a very dejected, dare I say disappointed tone asked if I was going to wear those shoes again.
After I picked up what was left of my self esteem, I managed to muster up my most hateful side-eye, in lieu of the neck chop that I should've doled out in light of such an implicit criticism.
Now, I understand that as the photographer he may want a little variety, especially when truth be told, he would much rather spend his time scratching than watching me do a bad impersonation of a supermodel.
I get it. Certainly the variety would at best distract from my forced smiles and the awkward poses. However, after all this time, I thought he would be used to my predilection to re-work and re-wear my favorite pieces.
Besides, if my repetition offends, he can always resort to donations of the monetary kind. That would certainly guarantee a few more pieces in the rotation.
Enjoy your weekend! Thanks for dropping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: FUR VEST & SNEAKERS

I spend a lot of time running around, and I use that term very loosely, because what I do is more akin to hobbling ever so painfully, and often in utter disgrace at my lack of grace in heels that certainly weren't made for walking or any type of movement that requires putting one foot in front of the other.
Call me slow as I've been in this shoe game for more years than I care to admit or own up to, but I just haven't mastered the fine art of walking in heels without succumbing to the inevitable pain that accompanies anything 5 inches and up.
So, in my down time, I choose comfort and reach for my wedge sneakers instead of spending my time off perpetrating a fraud and pretending that my dogs aren't barking in stilettos when clearly they've died, as the loss of feeling in 6 out of 10 toes can only signify nothing less.
I don't have time for that, at least on my down time that is, because any other time I would opt to chop those little piggies off if it meant squeezing into some sky high red bottoms also known as self esteem in a box.
Nevertheless, don't get me wrong, comfort isn't synonymous with frumpy or God forbid flats. Thanks to the ingenious wedge heel sneaker like these really cute pair by Daddy's Money I can still maintain my style and that height without jeopardizing my neck or sacrificing my pinky toes. Such a win win!

REPEAT FIX: FAUX LEATHER PANTS

Leather pants have always been associated with nightlife and wild parties, but believe it or not, this Closet staple can be worn casually for a more relaxed look as seen here and here. Leather pants can be easily dressed down when paired with casual pieces like flats instead of 5 inch heels. Since the fit of leather pants tend to be body hugging, this may be a tad bit sexy for day to day wear especially when paired with equally body skimming tops. Instead, try going with looser fitting tops to balance the sexy factor. Such minor changes will allow you to get your Repeat Fix. Below are two different ways I styled my faux leather pants. *To see how I dressed up these faux leather pants Check out my Instagram and follow me @ClosetFix

MY STYLE FIX: FAUX FUR ANKLE BOOTS

This Christmas in less than two weeks thing is really starting to make me want to down a bottle of Xanax and chase it with a bottle of red wine.
The idea of having to brave the crowds, and yes you do have to be brave as tensions tend to rise and stressed out procrastinators lose their grip and often want to fight over the limited supply of coveted items.
I don't have that kind of energy to fend off desperate Moms and Dads who would rather scratch the eyes of a fellow shopper out than disappoint little Billy by not snagging his leapfrog or whatever toy is hot at the moment.
Clearly those people have nothing to lose because nothing short of death is worse than the wrath of little Billy who may flip the fuck out if his demands aren't met, and he doesn't have a shiny gift to open Christmas morning.
I on the other hand don't have such pressures. I just wanna spread some Christmas joy without getting assaulted. So, the other day, I grabbed my bootie, paired with leather pants, a sweatshirt layered with a chambray shirt, my utility jacket, and I went to dinner.
I couldn't subject myself to the torture or the elevated possibility of becoming a punching bag for frustrated on the edge individuals. So, I skipped it! I'll do my shopping online. It's safer that way.

MY STYLE FIX: LEATHER & PEPLUM

Happy Monday! A few days ago I had the pleasure of attending Gabrielle Union's 40th Birthday Party in NYC. First of all, I personally need to see dental records or a DNA sample before I even believe for a second that she's 40 years old. I'm calling bullshit on that!
Clearly, she isn't a day over 25. So, obviously, this was some type of ploy to get compliments, because after the shock subsided, all I could think was how amazing she looked for any age, let alone fucking 40.
I mean, I know it's Hollywood and celebrities are not averse to slathering on all types of creams and injecting various body parts with crazy serums, all in hopes of staying forever young, but, based on the debacle that was Michael Jackson's face, that route doesn't work.
Clearly, you just end up looking like some alien bizzaro version of yourself, if you're lucky. Often times, these people are unrecognizable, and not in the oh my God you look so good type of way.

But, I can honestly say that Gabrielle Union looked the same, and judging from how good she looked at her party, no knife or needle has ever touched that face. At best, maybe some really expensive anti-aging cream, but certainly no botox or plastic surgery.
She just looked natural and young, which would lead me to believe that there must be some sort of satanic rituals involving the blood of virgins or the sacrifice of small farm animals, because it's just impossible to be 40 years old and look 25. Without black magic, or the whole selling your soul to the devil thing, it just doesn't add up.
But, as I mingled at the party in my peplum top paired with a jacket, leather pants, and pumps, I came to the conclusion based on Gabrielle's youthful gorgeous appearance, that when my time come, I'm going the same route, cutting the deal, and negotiating with Lucifer himself, if it means I'll look 25 at 40.

MY STYLE FIX: CHAMBRAY & LEATHER

So, if you didn't notice, I'm having a little love affair with leather right now. Clearly, this fixation would've been inappropriate in hot ass August, unless I had an affinity for sweaty thighs, which I can't say that I do.
However, with the cooler Fall temps I'm free to wear leather like here without worrying about sweating profusely or suffocating my coo ca, which true story has been known to happen.
Any way, I've only recently come around to the idea of wearing leather pants at all, much less in the day time. Honestly, I've always associated leather pants with rock stars or attention seeking whores, but since at least one of these things don't apply to me, I obviously must've been wrong.
Just based on fit alone, I can totally see why rock stars would opt for leather pants, as they're so comfy, almost like second skin, which makes gyrating like animals in heat in front of thousands of people totally doable, and ridiculously sexy when Lenny Kravitz does it.
So, whenever I'm just running errands or chillaxing, I've been reaching for my pair, which I wore recently with a jacket, chambray shirt, and flats.
And, I gotta admit that on many occasions, I've been known to whip out my air guitar and rock out for no reason other than the fact that leather pants seem to give people like me the chance to act a fool or live out those rock star dreams even if you're just at Walmart picking up toilet paper.
Enjoy your day! Thanks for stoping by<3
