MY STYLE FIX: A CHUNKY TURTLENECK

The chunky turtleneck sweater is a modern day testament to the fact that personal style can be both fashionable and practical.
As one who often throws caution to the wind embracing the impractical and ridiculous all in the name of fashion, it's refreshing to have a Closet staple that pulls double duty and appease my sensibilities.

MY STYLE FIX: AUTUMN WEDGE BOOTS

Although there's a chill in the air, it's still warm enough to pair skirts and boots without the fear of freezing your stems off.
These wedge knee-high boots balance the shorter hemline all while offering enough coverage for a warm comfortable day out.

MY STYLE FIX: FAUX FUR & PINK DRESS

I'm pretty sure this may have been the only time all season where  sweaty coochie be damned I wore tights.
During New York Fashion Week (NYFW) I had to travel all over the City to attend various runway shows and needless to say, the notion of freezing my exposed arse off did not appeal to me.
I'm pretty sure that tending to a frozen vagina would've distracted from the goings on on the runway so, I covered up to thwart the deep freeze.
Surprisingly, the sweaty scenario that I anticipated didn't come to fruition and I managed to stay warm and dry. Thank God for tiny miracles.
Have a great weekend! Thanks for dropping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: GREEN TULIP MINI SKIRT

Making it through New York Fashion Week(NYFW) primarily on a steady diet of the less than appetizing Fiber One bars that they ply you with at Lincoln Center is nothing short of a miracle.
I mean between the long days and late nights it's beyond comprehension that I didn't drop dead from malnutrition or sheer exhaustion by the end of the entire whirlwind event.
Sure the readily available beer I drank most days on an empty stomach took the edge off and distracted me from the pain emanating from my tired feet.
But, believe me, as the libations wore off, I was always reminded that the pulsing sensation was in fact coming from my limbs which had not rested in days.
So, needless to say, despite needing a shot of adrenaline by the end of NYFW, I had no qualms about putting on this mini and partying to celebrate surviving without a stint in the hospital.
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day<3

MY STYLE FIX: DENIM SHEARLING

I can hardly believe that I was allowed into the same building let alone the same room as one of my style inspirations, June Ambrose. I mean, the insane amount of hours I've spent fixated on her work alone would at least denote a 500 feet restraining order and a taser just to be on the safe side.
Thanks to Harlem Fashion Row who held an event featuring June Ambrose, I was able to breathe the same air as the style and fashion phenomenon all while hanging on to her ever word as if she was revealing the answers to the universe.
While I still don't know where we come from, or why Michael Jackson only wore that one glove, I did find out that June Ambrose is amazing not only because of her tremendous eye for fashion, but her humility and grace is what truly makes her special in my eyes.
There were no airs or pretentiousness as many in her position with all her accolades are prone to project to the chagrin of anybody unfortunate enough to be in their presence.
Hell, even people with far less achievements walk around as if there's a very large stick wedged really far up their rectal cavity, which let's be honest would make even Mother Theresa, God rest her soul, a raging bitch, but I digress.
Instead, June Ambrose couldn't have been nicer. She was so relatable and down to Earth even going far beyond what was expected of her to answer the questions of all her admires, as oppose to hightailing it off the stage the second her time was up.
Such a great role model, as a lesser person would've thrown up the deuces and headed for the door. I'm so glad I was there to witness it, as I was inspired.
Have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by<3

REPEAT FIX: BOLD LEOPARD PRINT

Don't let the bold print scare you. Leopard print is no longer relegated to the super sexy or that overly slutty chick. This bold print can be worn by anyone who want to add a little spice to their wardrobe like here and here. Once considered a trend, leopard print is here to stay, and is now a Closet staple that guarantees a Repeat Fix. In fact, it can be considered a neutral palate that is compatible with a host of colors and styles. Below are two different ways I styled my leopard print dress.

MY STYLE FIX: FUR & LEOPARD PRINT

Happy Monday! Lately, I've been using my weekends to squeeze in the last bit of going out fun before the roads ice over, and that white stuff starts falling out of the sky.
Whenever, it's that cold, there's no event or party in the world that can entice me to leave the comforts of my home, unless Brad Motherfucking Pitt himself is going to be there sans underwear giving out lap dances.
Otherwise, I like most New Yorkers tend to hibernate when wearing a hat isn't an option, and it's no longer a cute fashion statement, but a necessity. We're not there yet, so last weekend I put on one of my favorite dresses paired with boots, a warm enough coat, and went to Sunday Brunch.
Since the weather is permitting, and has recently taken a turn for the better, I've been taking advantage, because in a matter of weeks I'll be hunkered down in my house doing my best to pack on an extra 15 pounds, for insulation of course.
So, I went out, drank my fair share of mimosas, and tried to savor one of the last remaining beautiful days in the city. I had a blast!
Enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: SWEATER DRESS

Happy Monday! Call me crazy, but just because it's cold outside doesn't mean that a girl still can't show some leg. A few days ago, I wore this sweater dress paired with a denim peacoat, wedge boots, and I made my way through the streets, albeit briskly.
Sure, there were moments while damn near speed walking to stay warm, that I regretted my entire existence, but the rest of the time, mostly indoors in the heat, I was perfectly content braving the elements, all in the name of fashion, and being cute.
I mean, this wouldn't be my first time choosing style over good God damn common sense. For instance, any invalid knows that walking in 6 inch heels is risky at best, and a death sentence if we're really being honest, but you better believe I put those babies on every chance I get, and do my best newborn deer impression.
Yeah, I do stuff like that, so wearing this super comfy sweater dress without tights in the Fall was a cake walk, and made perfect sense in comparison to squeezing my foot into 6 inch heels angled at 90 degrees, when Sweet Baby Jesus didn't design my foot to bend that way.
My sweater dress kept me warm enough to avoid frost bite, and for that I'm grateful.

MY STYLE FIX: SPIKES & LEATHER

Happy Monday! On Saturday the temps never made it out of the 50's, so clearly it was a bit chilly. Thank goodness there was an abundant amount of sunshine while I was standing outside taking pics for the blog to make me forget that I couldn't feel my fingers.
Now, I don't know if you realize this, but I started Blogging at the end of March where the temps were at best chilly, and rarely freezing ass cold, give or take one or two days here and there. I've never had to stand out outside in the element, day after day, month after month, trying to get the shot, risking frost fucking bite.
Holy shit! If that's the case, I'm in trouble, because on Saturday I just knew I was going to die from hypothermia, and it was only 50 something degrees. Granted, If I was wearing more layers, and for heavens sake gloves, I may have had a more pleasant experience.
Instead, as per usual, I went for style over comfort and wore my leather jacket paired with a graphic tee, and wedge boots. As the wind whipped up and the sun started to go down, I started to regret my life, as I longed for wool anything.
It was hardly as brutal as it could've been, but don't be surprised if my next pairings are head to toe shearling inspired. I'm not a big fan of being uncomfortable, unless we're talking 5 inches and up anything, then and only then do I take it like a champ. Enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by<3
