The idea of adding volume to your frame is terrifying, and to many the mere act may seem symptomatic of a deeper underlying psychosis.

Yet, in some rare cases as seen in the tulip skirt phenomenon, defying all rhyme and reason, the extra draping can actually be flattering.

 Gone are the days when denim cutoffs were associated with the uniform of streetwalkers, as this item has long since taken its rightful place in the closet of every goody two-shoes and sinner alike.     

Certainly, there are those who often make this norm regrettable by constantly exposing their baby makers to old ladies and babies. 

However, when worn tastefully, this must have Closet staple can cover your assets and preserve the innocence of the youngest among us.

MY STYLE FIX: DENIM SHEARLING

 I can hardly believe that I was allowed into the same building let alone the same room as one of my style inspirations, June Ambrose. I mean, the insane amount of hours I've spent fixated on her work alone would at least denote a 500 feet restraining order and a taser just to be on the safe side.  

Thanks to Harlem Fashion Row who held an event featuring June Ambrose, I was able to breathe the same air as the style and fashion phenomenon all while hanging on to her ever word as if she was revealing the answers to the universe. 

While I still don't know where we come from, or why Michael Jackson only wore that one glove, I did find out that June Ambrose is amazing not only because of her tremendous eye for fashion, but her humility and grace is what truly makes her special in my eyes.  

There were no airs or pretentiousness as many in her position with all her accolades are prone to project to the chagrin of anybody unfortunate enough to be in their presence.

 Hell, even people with far less achievements walk around as if there's a very large stick wedged really far up their rectal cavity, which let's be honest would make even Mother Theresa, God rest her soul, a raging bitch, but I digress.   

Instead, June Ambrose couldn't have been nicer. She was so relatable and down to Earth even going far beyond what was expected of her to answer the questions of all her admires, as oppose to hightailing it off the stage the second her time was up. 

Such a great role model, as a lesser person would've thrown up the deuces and headed for the door. I'm so glad I was there to witness it, as I was inspired.

MY STYLE FIX: DRESS & WEDGE BOOTS

Barely a week into Winter and Mother Nature and that bastard coconspirator Old Man Winter are already disrespecting the streets with that wretched white shit, also known to those who don't have to shovel it as snow. 

And to think, I was bitching and moaning about how cold it was when I wore this little number to StyleCaster's State of the Style Summit in NYC in October. Now in hindsight, that 59 degree day seems balmy in comparison to this Artic ice box. 

At least that ratchet, insert expletive here, because there are so many that come to mind, especially if you're in the middle of the country, and you're getting your ass handed to you, figuratively speaking of course, because anything else would be disturbing at best and should involve law enforcement, but I digress. 

At least Mother Nature and her sidekick Old Man Winter could've worked up to blizzard conditions, because this ungrateful being who took for granted beautiful Fall days is not ready to deal with frigid temperatures, sideways wind, or those yellow ass patches of snow where Fluffy saw fit to express himself.

I'm not about that life, and I promise if those two knock it off, I'll savor the moments and enjoy the small things before they're gone.

MY STYLE FIX: HEARTS BOMBER JACKET

I've never been a big fan of wearing tights or stockings even in freezing ass weather that can easily make an eskimo regret his entire existence and pray for shelter.

I blame the whole wool tights under my jeans as a child situation where I'd be beyond warm and safe from the elements, but so God damn itchy I wanted to strip down to my skivvies, which would've been a totally inappropriate thing for an Elementary school kid to do.  

Sure my parents had the best of intentions as the Winter's in NYC can be brutal. So, of course as a parent you literally layered up your kid like their little lives depended on it.    

So, I survived unscathed, but I'm pretty certain to this day I suffer from PTSD. Something about being trapped and suffocating all the way to my death.   

It's not pretty, so no tights for me.

REPEAT FIX: BOLD LEOPARD PRINT

Don't let the bold print scare you. Leopard print is no longer relegated to the super sexy or that overly slutty chick. This bold print can be worn by anyone who want to add a little spice to their wardrobe like here and here. Once considered a trend, leopard print is here to stay, and is now a Closet staple that guarantees a Repeat Fix. MY STYLE FIX: SPIKY WEDGE SNEAKERS

Happy Tuesday! I've never been a sneaks type of girl. I much prefer to punish myself in stilettos, pointy toe shoes, and heels up to there.  

Certainly they're comfortable and that should count for something. But, who needs comfort when you can have extra height, and a sick tush lift.  

I mean unless you're training for the Olympics or trying to escape from the likes of Michael Myers or some other deranged psycho killer, sneaks just don't make sense in normal everyday life.

At least that's what I used to think until some genius or mad scientist came up with a way to make sneaks that give you some serious height ala a wedge heel, all while maintaing the comforts of a sneak.

If you ask me it's like the eight wonder of the world. And that dude who hatched this little plan should be given the keys to cities because wedge heel sneakers are now my go to kicks for hanging out.

So, this weekend I paired mine with skinnies, a sweater, coat, scarf, and I easily went from place to place without even a peep from my pinky toe. Enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: FUR & LEOPARD PRINT

Happy Monday! Lately, I've been using my weekends to squeeze in the last bit of going out fun before the roads ice over, and that white stuff starts falling out of the sky. 

Whenever, it's that cold, there's no event or party in the world that can entice me to leave the comforts of my home, unless Brad Motherfucking Pitt himself is going to be there sans underwear giving out lap dances. 

Otherwise, I like most New Yorkers tend to hibernate when wearing a hat isn't an option, and it's no longer a cute fashion statement, but a necessity. We're not there yet, so last weekend I put on one of my favorite dresses paired with boots, a warm enough coat, and went to Sunday Brunch.

Since the weather is permitting, and has recently taken a turn for the better, I've been taking advantage, because in a matter of weeks I'll be hunkered down in my house doing my best to pack on an extra 15 pounds, for insulation of course. 

So, I went out, drank my fair share of mimosas, and tried to savor one of the last remaining beautiful days in the city. I had a blast!
