MY STYLE FIX: THE PUSSY BOW LAYERS

During New York Fashion Week (NYFW) I opted to be more playful with my style by enhancing my pussy bow top to add a bit of drama to my look.

MY STYLE FIX: A WINTER BIKER JACKET

The shearling biker jacket is the perfect Closet staple that will most certainly add the right amount of luxe and edge to any winter outfit.

With a wider opening, flare jeans provide a flattering silhouette that help to balance proportions by slimming and elongating your frame. 

This desired effect is the perfect remedy to offset the extra Eskimo like bulk that layers can easily add to even the most trim figure.

Fashion trends come and go, but unlike many of those flops which we would all like to forget, the leather jacket has remained a permanent fixture in our closets and is currently hailed as a classic staple.  

This status is not surprising in the least as the leather jacket is super versatile and will easily allow you to achieve your style goals.

We often have the audacity or massive cojones to mess with perfection and alter a classic that prior to our interference had successfully stood the test of time without any modifications to the prototype.  

For years the interpretation of the classic trench coat has been tweaked resulting in amazing pieces like this studded coat that remains true to the gold standard all while adding a complementary update.

MY STYLE FIX: A NYFW PEPLUM DRAMA

Although peplum can be very ladylike and soft, an edgier interpretation of the classic silhouette can be seen in modern designs.

By simply exaggerating the hem much drama is created giving this staple an updated feel versatile enough to wear to fashion's main event NYFW.

 Gone are the days when denim cutoffs were associated with the uniform of streetwalkers, as this item has long since taken its rightful place in the closet of every goody two-shoes and sinner alike.     

Certainly, there are those who often make this norm regrettable by constantly exposing their baby makers to old ladies and babies. 

However, when worn tastefully, this must have Closet staple can cover your assets and preserve the innocence of the youngest among us.

MY STYLE FIX: PINK, BLACK, AND WHITE

I was this close to packing my shit and moving to the land of proverbial sunshine, risking the occasional onset of a heatstroke, if it meant no longer being subjected to NY's never ending cold spell.   

However, the influx of seasonally appropriate weather has convinced me to stay put, albeit provided by the same erratic bipolar psycho Mother Nature who has been known to fuck us at will, weatherwise that is.  

With some semblance of consistency, I can put away my winter clothes, that I have yet to do on account of Mother Nature's procrastination and not my own, which sadly, the latter is often the case.  

Finally spring is here to stay, and I can reach for my light jacket, and confidently venture out, without risking the indignity of hypothermia in the middle of spring of all things.

MY STYLE FIX: UTILITY VEST & LAYERS

Right now, while I still can, I'm having fun with layers before it gets hot as balls and nudity is the only Closet Fix that would suffice.  

A few days ago the weather warmed up a bit and I was able to lose the jacket, but not enough to pull out the midriff baring tops just yet.

Clearly, the gradual warm up is nothing but the mercy of Sweet Baby Jesus for those of us who're still shamefully sporting a one pack. 

Thankfully, the inappropriately cool spring weather has given me a reprise, and more time to right this jelly belly that's oh so wrong.

MY STYLE FIX: DENIM MINI & BLAZER

 Based on the outfit I posted here, I recently won a personal styling session with amazing designer +Rebecca Minkoff, which is beyond a miracle, as I've never really won anything, let alone something so major, the free refill that one time at Burger King notwithstanding.   

My initial elation was quickly replaced by nausea and relentless bubble guts at the thought of finding something to wear that would be halfway decent and not a total embarrassment to my entire life. 

After all, +Rebecca Minkoff is one of the most talented designers out there as her collections always exude and capture that chic, effortlessly cool edgy style that we all strive for.
So, after much consideration easily bordering on rumination, I stayed true to my style and opted to wear t-shirt and jeans albeit of the miniskirt variety.
