MY STYLE FIX: LITTLE PRINTED DRESS

 Wearing this little pink A-line printed dress easily communicate to the world that I'm sweet as pie, as opposed to an oversexed streetwalker, which my summer staple booty cutoffs may suggest.  

Now, to be fair, in my case, the latter may not be entirely off base. However, I have no desire to be boxed in by my clothing choices. So, I opt to diversify my closet, wear what I want, and keep them guessing.

MY STYLE FIX: HOT SUMMER TROPICS

I have to admit, since summer started, I've neglected skinnies in favor of lightweight bottoms that give my lady parts a chance to breathe. 

Certainly, once my body acclimates to the heat, I'll go back to full coverage. However, until then, I'll wear pieces with a loose-fit that won't cling to my body, and promote perspiration in private areas. 

As soon as I adapt to the heat, I'll go back to form-fitting, so tight that I can barely breathe denim, like I'm accustomed to wearing.

At any rate, subsequent to that occurring, I'll opt for more easy breezy pieces with appropriate ventilation.

MY STYLE FIX: TRIBAL INSPIRED SKIRT

If you follow me on Instagram @ClosetFix and via my Facebook Page, on May 13 you had the pleasure or deep disappointment, depending on your affinity or lack thereof for tribal print, of seeing this outfit. 

Personally, I'm into this skirt. Unlike some other prints that can instantly trigger a seizure on sight, and should honestly come with a warning label for the predisposed, this pattern is relatively pleasing.

Perhaps the color doesn't lend itself to promoting those irregular brainwaves that'll have you fluttering and foaming uncontrollably at the mouth, which btw the former would be tragic considering the length.  

In any event, whatever the case may be, I'm glad this tribal print works for me, and apparently for those of you who saw it weeks ago on my Instagram @ClosetFix and Facebook Page, as evidenced by no pending lawsuits regarding reckless endangerment with my name on it.

MY STYLE FIX: RACHEL ROY FEED TOTE

If you follow me on Instagram @ClosetFix and via my Facebook Page you're already aware that I had the pleasure of meeting talented designer +Rachel Roy at the launch of her FEED India tote bag in NYC.

Generally I don't need much convincing or arm twisting to shop. I usually take to it as if I'm getting paid to spend money frivolously, or so I've been told, and if we're really being honest, it's closer to being lectured and admonished once the credit card bill arrives.  

Most of the time the scolding is warranted, considering based on the stockpile of goods that I've acquired, and to this day have yet to wear, I certainly don't need anything else. 

However, that type of reasoning when it comes to shopping is a stretch for me, as my thought processes are far from rational once I set foot into a mall. So, I figure since I'm going to spend money any way, I might as well put my resources behind a worthy cause. 

Every purchase of Rachel Roy's FEED India bag, provides 100 school meals to children in India. I mean, I'm not going to lie, the bag is pretty cute, so I would've bought it anyway. However, the fact that I'm helping others while I flex my purchasing power is the icing on the cake. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your day<3

MY STYLE FIX: PINK, BLACK, AND WHITE

I was this close to packing my shit and moving to the land of proverbial sunshine, risking the occasional onset of a heatstroke, if it meant no longer being subjected to NY's never ending cold spell.   

However, the influx of seasonally appropriate weather has convinced me to stay put, albeit provided by the same erratic bipolar psycho Mother Nature who has been known to fuck us at will, weatherwise that is.  

With some semblance of consistency, I can put away my winter clothes, that I have yet to do on account of Mother Nature's procrastination and not my own, which sadly, the latter is often the case.  

Finally spring is here to stay, and I can reach for my light jacket, and confidently venture out, without risking the indignity of hypothermia in the middle of spring of all things.

Right now, while I still can, I'm having fun with layers before it gets hot as balls and nudity is the only Closet Fix that would suffice.  

A few days ago the weather warmed up a bit and I was able to lose the jacket, but not enough to pull out the midriff baring tops just yet.

Clearly, the gradual warm up is nothing but the mercy of Sweet Baby Jesus for those of us who're still shamefully sporting a one pack. 

Thankfully, the inappropriately cool spring weather has given me a reprise, and more time to right this jelly belly that's oh so wrong.

REPEAT FIX: LEATHER MINI SKIRT

The leg baring mini skirt can do wonders for your wardrobe. Incorporating this shorter hemline into your Closet may be a bit intimidating. However, to offset or downplay the inherent sexiness of this Closet staple, opt for pairings that include more subdued pieces as seen here and here. Ranging in a wide array of textures, colors, and even lengths, the mini skirt which can be worn year round is a fun and flirty option that is sure to provide endless opportunities for a Repeat Fix. MY STYLE FIX: LEATHER FRINGE SKIRT

Happy Thursday! I went to a shopping event a week ago held by Lucky Magazine and Clarks Shoes at Lord & Taylor. The timing couldn't have been any better since I'm currently in the market for new Fall shoes. 

I decided to wear a leather skirt and tee, paired with a denim jacket and pumps, which would've been perfect for shoe shopping, if it didn't involve bending over or God forbid lacing anything up. 

Had I been a more practical person, I would've worn skinnies or something a little further away from my lady parts, but I just got this skirt, and I really was looking for any excuse to wear it. 

Hell, I would've worn it to the grocery store, which would've certainly ruled out any items from the bottom shelf, as the moon would've made an indoor appearance. But, since the event was within a matter of days, there was no need to alarm innocent shoppers just out getting milk.

In all my wisdom, I figured I would save the flash for Lord & Taylor customers. I mean, if you're dropping a shit load of money on shoes, some moonshine should definitely be thrown in for good measure. Let's just call it customer appreciation.

Luckily for me, I managed to keep my backside under raps, and I was able to shop and meet other lovely Fashion Bloggers like Bonnie from Flashes of Style, and Jessie from Style and Pepper who were both hosting the event.
