MY STYLE FIX: A PRETTY SUMMER MAXI

The long flowing style of the maxi is a go-to Closet staple in the summer. The floor length piece is an easy breezy full coverage option.
To get the most out of this style, opt for a design that's fitted on top and flowy below for a fit that's figure flattering and body conscious.

REPEAT FIX: COLORBLOCK MAXI DRESS

When it come's to getting that Repeat Fix it's important to think outside the box, and be creative. Taking your staple pieces like a maxi dress, and wearing it at unexpected times will allow for multiple wears. You can easily transform your maxi dress from a warm weather staple as seen here to something you can reach for when the temperatures drop by adding simple accessories and key layering pieces such as sweaters or jackets as previously seen here. Below are two different ways I wore my maxi dress.

MY STYLE FIX: FLORAL & RUFFLES

It's Freaking Friday! I'm still excited from watching the Ah-Maz-Ing Gabby Douglas win the Gold medal in the gymnastic all around competition last night. She worked hard and earned that medal.
The nerves it takes to do what they do all while wearing a one piece in front of the whole world is nothing short of inspiring.
I wore this cropped top and maxi skirt the other day exposing my mid section, and with all the effort it took to hold my gut in, I could barely walk straight let alone do any kind of acrobatics.
Clearly, Gabby Douglas and the rest of the Fab Five are in the best shapes of their lives, and can confidently wear whatever they want.
If I were in half the shape they're in, you couldn't stop me from doing my floor routine naked. I would be so proud.
But, as is, I would be inclined to do the balance beam in a Burqa to hide all my deficiencies and protruding parts.
Trust me, anything less would spark an international incident, and national outrage!
Have a blast this weekend! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: PLEATED MAXI DRESS

Happy Tuesday! If this dress looks familiar it should. I wore it here when my blog was featured on MTV Style. Hell, Annna Wintour and Kate Middleton are repeat offenders too, and those bitches are rich, so don't judge me.
I can't afford to be decked out in a new outfit everyday! So, I use my noggin to find different ways to wear one piece. Trust me if I were rich like those broads, my arse would never be caught in the same outfit twice. I would just burn my clothes after wearing them, just because.
But, since I'm one paycheck away from dumpster diving, I unapologetically repeat my pieces with little tweaks, like opting to pair this maxi with a belt instead of a leather moto.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not averse to donning a mask, and knocking over banks, with the whole everybody down on the ground bit, for extra cash.
But, clearly there's no future in that, and besides, who's gonna drive the getaway car?! The BF?! I can barely get him to take pictures of me much less Bonnie and Clyding it! So I recycle as often as I can to achieve the looks that I want.
Enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: SUMMER MAXI DRESS

Happy Monday! I had a very low-key weekend if you don't count the arrival of the humongous planet that has taken up precious real estate on my already imperfect face. If I had a decent size paper bag that could've fit comfortably over my noggin without the whole suffocating to death thing, I would've gladly worn it without any reservations.
Resorting to such measures isn't even extreme, considering the circumference of the growth, which I'm certain would've frightened small children, or anyone with vision.
If I didn't know better, I would've ran straight to my dermatologist, so he could've biopsied the little invader, because clearly at that size there's no freaking way it was just your normal run of the mill blemish.
But, the timing, coupled with my insatiable need for chocolate, and overwhelming desire to scratch my BF's eyes out, or stab him to death, completely clued me in on why I could now legitimately be mistaken for the Elephant Man.
And to make matters worse, I wore this maxi dress, and choose to still take photos for my blog as if I don't have a stigmata on my cheek. Thank goodness for photoshop!
Enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: RUFFLE MAXI DRESS

Thank you Sweet Baby Jesus! Summer is unofficially here in every way that matters. It's hot again and I'm kinda freaking out because that bikini bod that I should've been working on all Spring is not even close to being a reality thanks to the greedy carb loving, ice-cream enthusiast, veggie hating tapeworm that's taken up permanent residence in my gut.
To make matters worst, they had the audacity to open the beaches ridiculously early on account of it being Memorial Day Weekend. Something about it being hot, and it would be a nice place to stay cool. I mean, I get the whole tryna prevent old people and children from dropping dead from an heat stroke angle, but what's more important, saving lives or preserving my delicate self-esteem.
My vote's for the latter, since I'm not ready yet! I need a bit more time to go hardcore at the gym, wire my pie hole shut, or at minimum have that pesky tapeworm surgically removed. I already tried to put that little bastard on a master cleanse, and after a few days he went ape shit, as he just wanted to have a burger...with cheese...french fries...and a milkshake. I can't control him. He's too powerful.
And, with all that I have to deal with, fighting a losing battle against this beast within, they decided to go and open the beach to the public, all while pushing deep fried everything to anyone who step foot on the boardwalk. It's quite absurd, since I don't know anyone who looks even remotely sexy after downing a corndog with chilly cheese fries. It's just not possible.
Needless to say, I shied away from that little exercise in will power, and stayed away from the coast this weekend. Instead, I wore a maxi dress dress, paired with a belt, flat sandals, and headed to the spa. At least there they're not tryna shove you in a bikini and clog up your last good artery.

They at least have the decency to get you naked and touch you up a little bit, which somehow distracts from the fact that your untoned, flabby, bulging body parts are visible to a complete stranger, who is absolutely wondering, how could anybody ever reveal such perkless tits to a stranger. But at least here you're getting some action, and if you're lucky the ending will be a happy one.
Enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: MAXI DRESS & MOTO JACKET

Happy Hump day! First of all let me just say that I would like to thank the New York Times for including my look in their street style section! Did you see that!? OMG,I haven't stop smiling since. You wouldn't either, if you knew all the drama that goes behind actually taking pictures for my blog. The amount of begging, pleading, and dare I say the trading of sex for favors is exhausting! My back hurts to say the least. All right...All right I kid about the latter, but it really does feel like I'm selling my soul to the devil or my BF for the snaps of a few pictures.
I mean, he really hates this stuff, and when he does begrudgingly agree to the snaps, there's all this moaning and complaining. like take today for instance, after I got dressed, pairing my maxi dress, with an oversized sweater, and a leather moto jacket, sensing the onset of a photo shoot, he immediately says "it's too cold outside" (blank M.F. stare). I mean come on!!! I just needed ten minutes of his time, but in his world he would rather feed Derrick Jeter grapes than take 10 minutes to snap pictures of little old me.
Needless to say, the begging ensued and all the promises of this is the last time just flowed out my mouth. Obviously I was lie telling, but desperate times...you get what I'm saying. I did what I needed to do. Plus, I'm pretty sure he knows it's not the last time, since it was the last time a few days age when he snapped me for the photo that was used in the New York Times. Truth be told, it was the last time before that episode too! So, unless he's completely gullible he know's that I won't make good on my empty promises.

I mean, I really like blogging after all! I guess it would be more convenient if I blogged about the books I read, but I love all things style and fashion, so if you're reading this, you know who you are, you better get into it, because there will be many more cold days to come. No worries though, I'll make it as painless as possible:)
I hope you guys are having a great day! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: SPRING DENIM JACKET

Hello everyone! Although it's been a little nippy in my area this week, there's no denying that Spring is here to stay! For me that only means one thing. Well...actually it means many things, but  for this post just humor me for a second. It means, time to go and dust off your favorite denim jacket! It's by far one of the most essential items to have for the season. If you don't have one I'm totally "side eyeing" you right now because who doesn't have a denim jacket.
It's one of those things that can be so versatile. You can totally dress it up if you wanted to go for a edgy cool look or you can pair it with something casual for a relaxed everyday look like I opted for today. I actually own at least three denim jackets (blank stare). It's so weird...every season I panic and buy another one thinking I don't have one in the first place. Hence the ridiculous collection, Smdh (I won't do that this Spring, promise).
This particular denim jacket is one of my favs. All the others are literally identical for the most part, but this one is actually a denim moto jacket which if you ask me is genius. I mean I did say that I like edge and this definitely answers my prayers.

I paired it with a black and white striped top, floral maxi skirt, and flats. Once again you can barely see my feet, but the flats are super cute! The picture above reveals some detail, but you really can't see the entire shoe. So, let me just fill you in. They are sort of a nudish color, really pointy, and get this, they have a little bow right in the front! Yes Please!! I'll take seconds of that! Now that this is my SECOND time not showing my shoes I will definitely try not to make that mistake again;) Enjoy your day<3
