MY STYLE FIX: SUEDE LEATHER BOOTIE

TGIF! I don't really get sick, but every five years or so, I get infected with some kind of ratchet cooties, and subsequently sentenced to the confines of what I just know is my deathbed.
It was that bad, and in hindsight wearing this lace skirt paired with only a sweater, leather jacket, scarf, and bootie on an unexpectedly colder than normal day definitely didn't help.
I literally didn't eat for three days, not counting all the medication I was taking to fight off my dark passenger.
If it wasn't for my gluttonous ways over Thanksgiving I wouldn't have had the bounty of fat reserves to get me through my lack of appetite.
That little Thanksgiving foodbaby seriously kept me from the bright light. It could've went so differently had I not had that second helping of candied yams.
I mean, I'm still not anywhere close to 100 percent, but I'm no longer laying lifelessly in bed, and it's not even by choice or subsequent to some kind of magic. For that I'm grateful.
Enjoy your weekend! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: SPIKY WEDGE SNEAKERS

Happy Tuesday! I've never been a sneaks type of girl. I much prefer to punish myself in stilettos, pointy toe shoes, and heels up to there.
Certainly they're comfortable and that should count for something. But, who needs comfort when you can have extra height, and a sick tush lift.
I mean unless you're training for the Olympics or trying to escape from the likes of Michael Myers or some other deranged psycho killer, sneaks just don't make sense in normal everyday life.
At least that's what I used to think until some genius or mad scientist came up with a way to make sneaks that give you some serious height ala a wedge heel, all while maintaing the comforts of a sneak.
If you ask me it's like the eight wonder of the world. And that dude who hatched this little plan should be given the keys to cities because wedge heel sneakers are now my go to kicks for hanging out.
So, this weekend I paired mine with skinnies, a sweater, coat, scarf, and I easily went from place to place without even a peep from my pinky toe. Enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: KNIT SCARF & STRIPES

TGIF! Right before Thanksgiving the genius that I am ran out and bought a pair of super skinny, skinny jeans. Truth be told, the fit is amazing, but it  was nothing more than the work of Sweet Baby Jesus that they made it over the hump that I like to refer to as my ass.
The notion that the skinnies fit like a glove is an understatement, as I know for a fact that gloves aren't quite as tight, bordering on the imminent strangulation of my precious digits.
These skinnies, which I paired with a moto jacket, blouse, scarf, and pumps, didn't exactly cut off my circulation, but clearly the overstuffing of my piehole during Thanksgiving will probably lead to some restricted blood flow at best.
Hell, that's if they even make it over my thighs after second and third helpings of turkey and pie. Obviously, it's definitely going to be close because these skinnies left no room for error, let alone ever-growing cellulite.
Surely, I could abstain and eat a normal portion, but it wouldn't be Thanksgiving without the excess and the gluttony followed by sloth, which is a given after scarfing down enough food to feed a small family. After that kind of endeaver, I'll be lucky if I fit into any of my other clothing let alone my new skinnies.
Have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: FUR & LEOPARD PRINT

Happy Monday! Lately, I've been using my weekends to squeeze in the last bit of going out fun before the roads ice over, and that white stuff starts falling out of the sky.
Whenever, it's that cold, there's no event or party in the world that can entice me to leave the comforts of my home, unless Brad Motherfucking Pitt himself is going to be there sans underwear giving out lap dances.
Otherwise, I like most New Yorkers tend to hibernate when wearing a hat isn't an option, and it's no longer a cute fashion statement, but a necessity. We're not there yet, so last weekend I put on one of my favorite dresses paired with boots, a warm enough coat, and went to Sunday Brunch.
Since the weather is permitting, and has recently taken a turn for the better, I've been taking advantage, because in a matter of weeks I'll be hunkered down in my house doing my best to pack on an extra 15 pounds, for insulation of course.
So, I went out, drank my fair share of mimosas, and tried to savor one of the last remaining beautiful days in the city. I had a blast!
Enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: COZY DUSTER SWEATER

TGIF! I have to confess, I really don't like wearing heels. If it wasn't for how freaking hot those torture devices made us all look, I'd much rather be in sneaks, flats, or flip flops any day of the week.
Clearly some sick sadistic man with mommy issues came up with that contraption, but I'm not gonna lie, he was on to something because I'd give up my first born for that extra bootie lift you get from anything 5 inches and up.
I thank Sweet Baby Jesus everyday for that tiny miracle, but it's so bittersweet, because the associated pain is the things that nightmares are made of. So, from time to time, I say fuck that, and opt to wear anything that doesn't defy gravity like these boots I paired with skinnies, tee, and a comfy sweater.
I'm telling you, for a few magical hours I felt like I was floating or drugged up on a shitload of quaaludes, as I felt no pain. I walked freely with a little extra pep in my step thanks to my newly liberated pinky toes.
It was just the break my dogs needed, but trust and believe, it won't be a long one. After all, with my cheeks heading south, this gravity challenged girl can always use a little bootie lift. I'm about that life.
Enjoy your weekend! Thanks for stopping by.

MY STYLE FIX: TURTLENECK SWEATER

Happy Hump Day! I have to admit that it's cold out, but not cold enough to whip out the triple fat goose, or the head to toe chinchilla, like we're in the Tundra.
Trust me, in the wee hours of the morning when the temps are hovering in the where's my hat, scarf, and glove zone, I'm tempted, but as the day progresses and I'm stripping off my clothing like someone's making it rain, I realize that we're not there yet.
Although, with the shit Mother Nature has been pulling lately, you just never know. After all, I did just experience a hurricane, a snowstorm, followed by a few days of mild weather, all in the span of two weeks.
Shit is very biblical right now to say the least. It's to the point where I'm seriously on the look out for locust. However, until then, I will follow the forecast and dress accordingly.
Now, it seems like it's Fall again. So, I paired a turtleneck with skinnies, double breasted blazer, pumps, and headed out to face my day. I hope you enjoy yours. Thanks for stopping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: SWEATER DRESS

Happy Monday! Call me crazy, but just because it's cold outside doesn't mean that a girl still can't show some leg. A few days ago, I wore this sweater dress paired with a denim peacoat, wedge boots, and I made my way through the streets, albeit briskly.
Sure, there were moments while damn near speed walking to stay warm, that I regretted my entire existence, but the rest of the time, mostly indoors in the heat, I was perfectly content braving the elements, all in the name of fashion, and being cute.
I mean, this wouldn't be my first time choosing style over good God damn common sense. For instance, any invalid knows that walking in 6 inch heels is risky at best, and a death sentence if we're really being honest, but you better believe I put those babies on every chance I get, and do my best newborn deer impression.
Yeah, I do stuff like that, so wearing this super comfy sweater dress without tights in the Fall was a cake walk, and made perfect sense in comparison to squeezing my foot into 6 inch heels angled at 90 degrees, when Sweet Baby Jesus didn't design my foot to bend that way.
My sweater dress kept me warm enough to avoid frost bite, and for that I'm grateful.
Enjoy your day! Thanks for dropping by<3

MY STYLE FIX: GRAPHIC SWEATER

TGIF! Yesterday, I layered my graphic sweater with a shirt and trench coat, paired with skinnies and pumps to face the cooler temps. It's been a very long week due to all the drama that Hurricane Sandy created. Mother Nature really put the smackdown on the East Coast, and now so many people are suffering.
Although my area wasn't affected in a significant way, to see all the catastrophic damage to other NYC neighborhoods that I'm familiar with is beyond amazing, and really sad. I truly hope that this disaster isn't a prelude to what the Mayans predicted.
With all the deaths, flooding, fires, homelessness, and destruction of entire neighborhoods, I can only conclude that December 21, 2012 is going to be one hell of a day, pun intended.
Fingers crossed, the Mayans were way off, and those predictions will not come to fruition. However, just to be on the safe side, I plan to spend my time being kind to my neighbors and fellow human beings, starting by donating to the American Redcross to help out with the Sandy disaster.
I'd rather stack my cards in favor of not going to that hot place with that rachetty bastard with the pitchfork. I heard he's a real son of a bitch, and that just doesn't sound like a good time, at least not for an eternity. So I'm going to do my part, and hopefully it pays off in the end.
Enjoy Your Weekend! Thanks for stopping by<3
